Educational Program

The objective of our educational program is to promote the optimal development of children and adolescents through key school skills.

The General Law of the Rights of Girls, Boys and Adolescents establishes in article 57 that girls, boys and adolescents have the right to a quality education that contributes to the knowledge of their own rights and, based on a human rights and equality approach. substantive, which guarantees respect for their human dignity; the harmonious development of their potential and personality, and strengthen respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Education is a fundamental right that since 1948 was established in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it is also framed within the Sustainable Development Goals.

A study was carried out in Colonia Degollado de Iztapalapa with the aim of knowing the causes of school dropout, it was found that 71.87% of people dropped out of school around the age of 14, 19.35% at the primary level, 53.12% during middle school and 19.35% in high school.

The lack of schooling in Mexico is a serious problem, since on the one hand there are people who have not been enrolled in basic education (mostly women) and on the other hand there are people who were enrolled but did not complete primary school and is not attended by the school system of basic education (INEA, 2015) The lack of schooling perpetuates hunger. Primary education is one of the surest means for children and their families to break the vicious cycle of poverty and hunger” (He Changchui, 2005)

According to the School Dropout Survey that was carried out in Colonia Degollado de Iztapalapa, we found that 71.87% dropped out of school before the age of 14, due to:  There was no money at home or there was no money for things of school (supplies, tickets or registration) (55.17%),  They considered that working was more important than studying (51.72%)  They considered that studying was of little use (34.48%)  They had problems understanding teachers (34.48%) )

At Proyecto DUQ we want to change this reality by providing educational tools to our boys and girls. We do this through reading comprehension workshops, regularization workshops, literacy and computer workshops.
